What happens when a couple photographers from Wisconsin head to the dry lands of Las Vegas with a group of models? Great photos, sand and even a ghost town. Yes you heard right but lets start from the beginning I've got to set the scene for you. This was a huge opportunity for me, I've always wanted to travel and do my photography. Don't get me wrong Wisconsin has a lot of beautiful scenic locations, but something about traveling, seeing the world and capturing it with "MY" lens to create art. Allowing others see the world through my eyes and how I see it. Not to mention I've never been to Vegas before so I was beyond excited for this adventure.
We went out there to capture some gorgeous glamour/boudoir photography, so you know me I had to put my fashion vision on to the images. Once we got to the locations they were even more beautiful than I thought they would be. With back in Wisconsin winter being in full force, Vegas we a little different during the day it was so nice and warm but once that sun went down I thought we were back in Green bay (it was COLD). And a few shots where to be first thing during sunrise. I felt bad for the models but they were amazing doing their best to ignore the cold temps. The outfits where just as glamourous as the beautiful models we were photographing. There was ribbons, lace, and flowing fabrics blowing in the winds. Afternoon hit and it felt back like we were in summer time (ahhhh!).
First location we visited was a dry flat dried up lake bed. This was the simplest location that we shot at but in my opinion the simplicity of it made it the most beautiful location. You had dry cracked up foreground mountains way back to set the background. A lot of photographers now a days make sure they blur out the background to bring more focus to the subject but this time it was the complete opposite I wanted to capture it all and see Gods beautiful land that He created. I first Shot with Anna and her trench coat and hat, she was so much fun to shoot with all smiles and laughter. Next was Kayla, the body sculpting queen let me get really creative in her red lace lingerie and red lace robe, we got to see how flexible she could bend backwards. Jen was the tall beauty that wanted to challenge her inner beyonce', so you know she allowed me to bring out that boss lady in her shoot. Last was Amanda another top fitness body sculpting model, showed off her fashion elegance in her photos gotta luv that.
Second location we went was the Sand dunes. Thanks to Robby (another photographer) and his truck the off-road adventure to our shooting location was both fun and SCARY. I thought we were going to flip his truck a few times. But we made it and I have a new found respect for flatbeds lol. I was in complete awh when I seen this location its even more beautiful in person if you ever get the chance do yourself a favor check them out. I shot with Amanda, Kayla, and Jen here. It was extremely cold this morning and for the models safety we did not stay out there that long. I still was able to get some amazing photos.
Next up the GHOST TOWN yes its just as awesome as it sounds. Never thought in my life I would get a chance to go to a real ghost town but we did and I can not describe in words what went through my head when they said watch out for rattlesnakes (haha you thought I was going somewhere else with that huh.) Don't worry with the cold we did not see any thank goodness. Shooting with Jen in front of the downed Airplane, and kicking sand with Jen and badass Cowgirl Amanda waiting at the gas station.
Lastly we decided on our final night to get a penthouse to get some killer shots this place was overlooking the whole Vegas strip and casinos. If I remember right we was in the 25 floor (one floor below the top floor). Let me tell you this penthouse was absolutely beautiful. Full chrome kitchen, Glass dining room, see through showers, hot tub on the balcony. The movies are not lying when you see those clips. We were able to shoot some beautiful night images in this location. I just want to thank everyone that went with us I can not wait to do it again in Miami next month. I can't wait to tell everyone all about it. Stay tuned for that post I will get behind the scenes for you as well.
